If you ever want to know who would be a good fit and a solid life partner for me, then let me present you The List. If you are or know of someone who fits this profile, then introduce me to the girl. I’ll take her out and show her a good time and we’ll see what happens. Seriously.

The ones that are bolded are considered non-negotiable by me. Everything else is negotiable. I certainly can’t expect a girl to have all these qualities, but as they say, “Shoot for the stars and you land on the moon.”

But I think that the one thing I would want more than anything else is a girl with true soul and substance.Best way to summarize her is in one line; “Seeking a fun and spontaneous girl with integrity and character.”

  12. Solid listener
  13. Wants to travel
  14. Reliable
  15. Respected by her peers
  16. Open minded
  17. Sophisticated
  18. Very giving of herself. Not just to me, but to people in general.
  19. Always learning.
  20. Depth of soul
  21. Has a sense of style
  22. Affectionate
  23. Compassionate
  24. Ethical and strong sense of character
  25. Someone who just gets me.

What do I offer in return? Great question. Below are the list of qualities that I feel that I can offer to someone. I’ve bolded the qualities that I feel I have that stands out the most. Modesty, is my greatest strength :-)

I got this idea from Maria who has her own list. Incidentally, it worked for her because she’s now married to the guy of her dreams.

I think it really helps to actually have a list that is written out like this instead of just in our head. Speaking only for me, having a written list helps me  determine if any particular girl is the right one for me. The whole concept of chemistry can sometimes be a bit vague and overrated at times because so few people know how to define chemistry or what it really is. Quite frankly, chemistry has been known to fizzle all the time because some of the other fundamentals that helps make a relationship work isn’t there.

Having a list helps me minimize all the useless single dates that occur from time to time as well. A list helps give focus. It offers direction.

    Ah! The list strikes again. You know – I ended up burning the list because whilst it helped me find the man of my dreams, the poor guy put himself under so much pressure to meet every requirement I said – to hell with it! And most of our little problems went away. :-)
